By Pokea Nko – Pictures From My Recent Safari

Good morning from a warm and sunny Arusha! My name is Pokea and I am a driver-guide working for Africa Dream Safaris. I have just driven back home after completing my latest adventure with my two guests named Kristen and Amber. My safari was 7 nights in duration. We had two nights camping in the Central Serengeti, 3 nights at Lake Masek camp and 2 nights at I think the most luxurious lodge in Tanzania named Crater Lodge. The wildlife viewing is amazing especially out …

By Peter Meena – Gorgeous Serengeti!

Warm greetings from Tanzania. This is Peter Meena reporting to you from our offices in Arusha. I have just concluded my latest safari with a very nice family from the U.S.A. Thank you Randi, Richard, Gloria, Rebecca, Samuel and Alexis. We spent 6 nights on safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater from March 4th to March 10th. Follows is my bush report and also some snap shots. There were big herds of wildebeests and zebra in the Moru Kopjes area of the Serengeti and also …

Greetings From The Serengeti – March 12, 2013

The animals viewing in both the Eastern and Southern regions of the Serengeti National Park has recently been tremendous. The area called Barafu Valley is breathtaking and there are some good sightings to be had here. We saw some wildebeest coming down to drink from the small stream that flows through the heart of this valley as it is the only source of water for many kilometers. There is a large pride of lions in this area with many cubs of different ages near Barafu …

By Raphael Mollel – Lions!

One of the highlights from my recent safari was watching this pride of lions (pictured below) with their buffalo kill. This was in the central part of the Serengeti in the Seronera River Valley. The Seronera region is a good spot to see predation year round as there are several large prides of lions that are resident (i.e. they do not follow the wildebeest migration) and subsist off the resident herbivores including buffalo, warthog and several species of antelope.

Our Top 7 African Safari Highlights

We’ve been home from Tanzania for a few weeks now and we’re still talking about our experiences and continue to find ourselves “in the bush” watching the animals in our dreams at night. Our time in the Serengeti was amazing! We had spent months thinking about this trip, reading reviews of different tour operators and considering various options. We are so glad we chose ADS. Lynn Newby-Fraser listened to our wish list and gave us good advice in the planning phase. Other ADS employees in Tanzania …

By Reggie Matemu – Report For Safari Ending March 2, 2013

My name is Reggie and I am a driver-guide with Africa Dream Safaris. I have just returned home after completing a spectacular safari with my two guests from America named Nancy and Rachel. There were many highlights on the safari but …

By Emmanuel Kichao – Wildebeest Calving Season

Jambo! I’m Emmanuel Kichao, a driver-guide with ADS, and I have just returned from the bush with my nice clients Toni and Richard. The safari dates were February 20, 2013 to March 2, 2013. We had a wonderful experience and it was very fortunate timing to be in the Serengeti to witness the wildebeest calving season. The wildebeest calving that takes place every year on the southern Serengeti plains has to be one of the top wonders of the natural world. Every year the majority of …

By Thomson Malekia – Patiently Waiting

Greetings from the Serengeti! This is ADS guide Thomson reporting with a great wildlife sighting.  I just came across a pride of lions relaxing by the waterhole near Gol Kopjes. It made for a beautiful picture! The lions were patiently waiting for nighttime to begin hunting as out on these open plains it is easier for lions to hunt under the cover of darkness. It is currently warm and dusty and by sitting along the water they can regulate their body temperature. We managed to get …
