Accommodation

For guests in search of the perfect sanctuary from which to base their safari experience in the North Serengeti, it leaves nothing to be desired.

The pinnacle of your stay at Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge will undoubtedly be your own guest tent. The guest rooms are comprised of a generous 70 square meters of comfortable living space. The primary focus of each guest tent is the VIEW! That is the major theme governing the design here, and everything faces WEST for, you guessed it, the amazing Serengeti sunset that closes each evening here. The west wall of each tent is comprised of floor-to-ceiling glass, complete with a set of frameless sliding glass doors that open out to a grand balcony complete with loungers, sunshade and a private plunge pool.

The rest of the walls are comprised primarily of canvas and wood, more than enough substance to keep you safe and comfortable while still allowing in the sounds of the Serengeti night to serenade you. The interior sitting room includes a loveseat, chairs and coffee table that make the perfect space for enjoying your morning coffee to start the day, and later your evening night cap to close it.

The en suite bathroom includes a double vanity and a segregated lou with pocket door for maximum privacy. Take a soak in the oversized bathtub or choose one of the two showers... a modern indoor shower comprised of glass walls and stone tile or a sheik outdoor shower under a dome of infinite blue skies. A writing desk is convenient for journaling your safari memories. A discrete dash of technology is included in all the right places including 24/7 electricity, ample outlets for charging camera batteries and a telephone for communicating with staff.

The common guest areas are equally charming, comprised of an indoor/outdoor dining room with fireplace and a bar with an adjacent lounge with fireplace. A grassy pathway invites one to wander from the common areas to an unknown destination out of sight. Follow it from the main kopjes, past a couple of tree swings, beneath a line of fig trees to a small chalet at the base of the hill in an ultimately discrete and private location. There you will find a fully equipped massage studio where arrangements can be made for a whole menu of decadent spa services.

Best of all, the chalet opens to the magnificent view of the rolling hills beyond. Plan a massage at sunset for maximum impact!

A dedicated bonfire circle doubles as a romantic outdoor dining venue on special nights, weather permitting. At night the entire area is dramatically illuminated by the bonfire plus dozens of candles and lanterns beneath a cool blue blanket of starlight. You will be escorted by arrow-wielding Maasai warriors back and forth from your tents to the common areas as needed.

Another perk for those concerned with carbon footprints, Lemala Kuria Hills Tented Camp was designed to be as eco-friendly as possible without compromising the luxurious 5 star guest experience.

Food & Drink

Breakfast consists of a mix of hot items 'cooked to order' such as eggs, pancakes, and sausage and/or bacon. A buffet with choices of cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, freshly baked breads and muffins are also available with a side of coffee or tea.

Lunch is typically lighter than dinner but still a large and satisfying meal, consisting of starter such as a soup or salad, a main course, then a light dessert or fruit plate followed by a coffee or tea.

The evening meal consists of several gourmet courses ordered a la carte off a rotating menu, accompanied with your choice of wine or other beverage. You may order your choice of a soup or salad starter, a protein and starch (such as roasted chicken, curried lamb or pasta with meat sauce), vegetable (such as buttered cauliflower and broccoli) and freshly baked bread, followed by a desert (such as strawberry cheesecake or caramelized flan).

Breakfast boxes are available for early morning game drives and lunch boxes are also available so one can undertake full day adventure game drives.
