We just returned from our trip yesterday afternoon. What a fabulous experience! We saw every type of wildlife, observed the gathering of great herds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras driving toward the Mara River, saw several prides of lions, herds of elephants, several cheetah, and multitudes of other animals all up close, some nearly next to the vehicle, a black Rhino and a baby rhino in the crater (about 100 yards away), and leopard (about 50 yards away, also in the crater).
We loved each of the parks, and while we saw the most wildlife in Serengeti, we also enjoyed Lake Manyara and Tarangire as well. Each is different and extraordinary in its own way. We also ran into Kevin and Jan & kids several times...at Migration, at Olduvai at lunch, at the Crater, and on their way out in Tarangire. Great people, and we have made new friends.
Breezes on Zanzibar was also an excellent facility...a great property with an excellent staff. A great way to unwind from the dusty & bumpy safari (though the last 3 miles or so to the property was more like a safari...unpaved, dusty, and bumpy).
Pascal was our driver-guide, and what a phenomenal animal spotter, guide, and coordinator. He was outstanding!
Thanks again for all of your help in coordinating the trip of a lifetime. It was the perfect amount of safari (the kids began getting punchy the last afternoon drive at Tarangire). I'll share some pictures when we can.
All the best,
Rosemary K. Family
