North Serengeti / Serengeti BushTops Lodge
Wake early and chase the African sun on your morning bush flight to the Mara River. You are about to witness an epic number of animals, jaw-dropping scenery and the most stunning spectacle in all of Africa - the Great Migration! The North Serengeti is an especially secluded region, untrammeled and utterly devoid of human civilization - the perfect place to begin your safari adventure. Your private driver guide will have a fresh picnic lunch packed for you to enjoy while out in the bush and will be waiting for you at the airstrip as your gracious host to the magnificent wonders of Tanzania.
Witness your very first glimpse of elephant herds, mighty buffalo, dainty gazelle and stately giraffes drifting through the acacia trees. Seek out lions shifting through the undergrowth and leopards slinking in the upper branches of the gallery forest. Watch hippos sunbathe on the banks of the Mara River and stalk giant herds of wildebeest and zebra as they contemplate the river. Unwind from the day's excitement in comfort and class at the lovely Buffalo Springs Tented Lodge.
North Serengeti / Serengeti BushTops Lodge
Drive straight to the Mara River this morning on a private game drive in search of the Great Migration. Look for large herds of wildebeest and zebra. With a little luck and timing you may get to witness a crossing. Nothing rivals the excitement of watching a thousand wildebeest and zebra plunge into the glittering waters of the great Mara River.
Depending on where they choose to cross, the great herds may need to battle raging currents, clatter over slippery boulders the size of cars, climb vertical banks as tall as a building, dodge the snapping jaws of crocodiles and avoid being trampled by their fellow companions.
Head back to Serengeti BushTops Lodge early so you can relax after a morning of excitement. Socialize with other guests around a roaring campfire and then retreat to the dining room to enjoy a delicious four-course meal cooked to order just for you!
North Serengeti / Buffalo Springs Tented Lodge
Wake to the tweets, chirrups, and twitters of the Serengeti morning percolating through the canvas walls of your tent. Enjoy a delivery of steaming hot coffee, tea and cookies followed by an exciting game drive in the brisk air of early morning. Or feel free to sleep in and take it easy. The more ambitious may wish to get out at sunrise. It's your choice; it's your private safari!
Today you'll travel through the sprawling grey boulders of Wogakuria and the open green valleys of Bologonja, all the way to the wildlife filled Lobo Valley. Along the way, look for lions hunting, leopards prowling and cheetahs stalking. The North Serengeti is especially famous for large herds of buffalo and elephant. You will find yourself falling into rhythm with nature and time starts to have little meaning.
Arrive at Buffalo Springs Tented Lodge in the early evening. Sit by the warm glow of the bonfire sipping your favorite drink on sundowner hill which offers spectacular views of the sunset. Enjoy a delicious dinner followed by the thrill of a night game drive!
Central Serengeti / Four Seasons Bilila Lodge
Awake to another brilliant morning 'in the bush'. Visit an authentic Maasai Village and learn about their proud and fascinating culture. A village chief will provide a tour of the Boma and explain their beliefs and way of life. Afterwards, enjoy a walking safari to experience the sights and sounds of African nature on foot. The walk can be tailored to the level that suits you, from an easy stroll to a more challenging hike.
After your walk, you'll embark on an afternoon game drive. Drive through the secluded woodlands of the Northern corridor and look for large numbers of migrating animals. On the way, you'll pass by a tawny expanse of grassland known as the Tagora Plain, where you'll have a good chance to see cheetahs and lions.
Finally, you will reach the famous Seronera River Valley, lined with exotic palm trees, famed for leopards and large prides of lions. Arrive at the lodge in time to enjoy the atmosphere. Watch the elongated shadows of evening stretch into night as your cares melt with the setting sun.
Central Serengeti / Seronera Sametu Camp
Wake up before sunrise for an early morning game drive around the Sametu Kopjes, Maasai Kopjes and the Seronera River Valley. Focus some time on the Seronera River game loops for quality encounters with all three species of big cats - lions, cheetahs and leopards. The Seronera River is the largest and most well known of the four rivers that snake through the broad Seronera Valley. Each one is lined with beautiful umbrella acacia, yellow-barked acacia and sausage trees. With its seasonal swamps and deep pools of water, the Seronera River is ideal lion and leopard habitat and there is perhaps no easier place in Africa to see both these species in action.
Be on the look out for the large resident lion prides that base themselves along the river banks where they ambush their prey when it comes to drink. After a day packed with adventure searching for the big five, enjoy a delicious dinner and retire to your comfortable room for some well-earned relaxation.
Serengeti / Ngorongoro Lion's Paw Camp
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Lodge followed by a morning game drive in the Central Serengeti. Today you will travel to the depths of a collapsed volcano, the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, which contains massive numbers of wild animals including a thriving population of the rare black rhinoceros.
Your journey will take you through the Serengeti park gate, across an open expanse of flat plains into the rolling Ngorongoro Highlands and will culminate at the brim of the great crater itself. During your assent, the air changes as the altitude increases, till you breach the rim and get your first glimpse inside the cauldron, a real life "Garden of Eden". End your day at the lovely Ngorongoro Lion's Paw Camp with the ultimate location, stunning views and friendly ambience. Enjoy a cozy campfire with front row seat to the stunning panorama sunset over the Crater's Western rim.
Ngorongoro Crater / Arusha / Kilimanjaro
Wake to the muted light of early morning on the mist-clad rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the depths of the cauldron and escape into a new safari adventure. From black-maned lions to blushing flamingos to the colossal 'big-tusker' elephants, there are no shortage of wonders to be seen here! Swing through Lake Manyara National Park on the way back to Arusha. A kaleidoscope of birdlife, butterflies and monkeys flit through the forest canopy here, while Lake Manyara's glassy surface shimmers in the distance. You can enjoy some last minute shopping in Arusha prior to checking into your day room to relax, repack and refresh.
Depart to the airport and say goodbye to your trusted guide who has hosted your private safari adventure. You will never forget the memories created on your private safari in Tanzania.
