Where do I begin our story of our Tanzania adventure? In July, my aunt, my sister and I took a private safari through Africa Dream Safaris - an experience like no other. Our lodging, food, travel and most of all the game viewing was honestly beyond anything I could ever have imagined.
ADS was a pleasure to work with, from the very moment they met us at the airport and ushered us through the visa and customs process to the minute we had to say good-bye to our guide Maiko eight days later. Our every need was planned for ahead of time and our every wish was fulfilled.
Our guide Maiko helped us see some amazing and rare sights - a pair of lions mating, a herd of elephants close to 80 in size, and a momma cheetah teaching her cubs to hunt. We learned more about the animals from him in just over a week than we learned from searching the Internet months prior to our departure. He was also very patient in helping us learn the Swahili names for the animals we saw.
People back home heard "safari in Africa" and immediately thought of sleeping bags and small tents. Our lodges were beautiful and the ADS private luxury camp we stayed in for two nights had all the comforts of home and then some! The camp staff were friendly and welcoming and I think we all agree our favorite meal on the trip was the traditional African feast served to us the last night in the camp, which we enjoyed under the stars and in the company of our guide and the camp manager Joseph.
I am including just a few of the hundreds of photos we took. On behalf of my sister and our aunt, I want to thank everyone at ADS for making our first Tanzania adventure amazing and memorable. We will surely be back!
